What is DNMS?
The Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS) is a multidimensional, comprehensive, strengths-based, client-centered, ego-state therapy that treats complex trauma wounds, such as those inflicted by repeated physical, emotional, or sexual abuse; and attachment wounds such as those inflicted by chronic neglect, rejection, enmeshment, or misattunement (DNMS Institute 2016).
What is EMDR?
“Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR Therapy) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress.” (EMDRIA, 2013)
What is Somatic Experiencing (SE) and how will it benefit me?
“Somatic Experiencing® is a body-awareness approach to trauma being taught throughout the world. It is the result of over forty years of observation, research, and hands-on development by Dr. Levine. Based upon the realization that human beings have an innate ability to overcome the effects of trauma, Somatic Experiencing has touched the lives of many thousands. SE® restores self-regulation, and returns a sense of aliveness, relaxation and wholeness to traumatized individuals who have had these precious gifts taken away. Peter has applied his work to combat veterans, rape survivors, Holocaust survivors, auto accident and post-surgical trauma, chronic pain sufferers, and even to infants after suffering traumatic births.” (Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, 2013)
What is SATe?
Adult relationships offer the most powerful opportunity to resolve old insecure patterns based on adaptations that occur originally related to lack of safety, trust, consistency or protection to name just a few possible bonding deficits.” ”You can overcome the grip of past trauma to have more fun, connection and healthy intimacy in your relationships now.” (Somatic Attachment Training & Experience, 2013)
